What we respond to first

1. Corrections, if we got something wrong, tell us with the source. We'll fix it fast.
2. Senate tips, markup news, amendment text, what your senator's office said. We protect sources.
3. Coverage requests, programs we haven't written up, state-specific issues, niche provisions affecting your operation.
4. Reader questions, if it's interesting and not too narrow, we may write it up as a public Q&A.

What's slower

• General feedback (we read it but rarely reply)
• Suggestions for design changes (queued)
• Lobbying communications (we read them but don't engage editorially)

Sending us a tip

If you have nonpublic information about Senate consideration, USDA implementation plans, or industry response, and you can document it, we want to hear from you. We protect sources.

Useful things to include:

• What you're seeing or hearing
• How you know (general source description, not necessarily names)
• Any documents that support it
• Whether and how we can quote you (named, anonymous source familiar with..., on background, etc.)

We publish using primary sources where possible. If you need help finding a specific document we referenced, Congressional Record citation, CRS report, USDA publication, let us know. We're happy to share what's in our research files.
